This is an easy to make and use hair mask that is so rich, nourishing and moisturizing.
Ingredients:
1 Avocado
2 very ripe bananas
2 TBS (Tablespoon) Coconut oil
2 TBS Mayonnaise
2 TBS Olive Oil
2 TBS Honey
10 drops tea tree oil
Instructions:
- In a food processor or blender mix all the ingredients and blitz away until it has mixed all the ingredients well!! Since I was using actual banana here, I ensured that the bananas were well pureed. The mixture was very smooth. In 2013, in my earlier years of experimenting, I once used a banana and didn’t make it smooth. I blended the banana but it was not super smooth so I had little bits of banana in my hair. It took a couple of washes [as in days:-(]to get it off. So, I beg o, make sure that the banana is pureed.
- Section the hair in small areas and apply on either damp or dry hair. Mine was dry and the effect was pleasant because the hair became so moisturized!
- Wear you makeshift or real shower cap. Wait for 30 to 1 hour and then wash it off with shampoo followed by conditioner.
- Remember to moisturize after applying the hair mask, I prefer the LOC (Liquid, Oil & Cream) method. This is a crucial step because you have just done a great work of conditioning the hair. The last step is to seal in all the goodness that you have just honoured your hair with.
- I will definitely use this mask again because it was truly a worthwhile experience. My hair felt so silky smooth and strong. Also, it freezes well, I froze some left over and when I used it again, it was equally as good as the first time.
